An interesting graph from Microsoft about the potential in Mobile Shopping. Of course, right now it’s mostly games and music that are purchased from the mobile. Additionally mobile e-commerce is a very small % of total e-commerce.

There’s a lot of potential for mobile paymens especially in places like India where users may not even have a credit card but might be willing to put money up front on their phone and even wire it back to family back in the village.

The latest from PC World – some of the regulars plus a new tool to track laptops called Prey (open source), given that I’ve not been able to get Adeona to work consistently, go to give this a try.

Batter Care – likely more useful with WinXP/Vista than Win 7 that has better battery monitoring. Just installed this and look useful thus far.

A few public Wifi protection utilities are listed, certainly worth trying especially if you hop on to a lot of unprotected wireless networks.

Bangalore has serious issues in this regard but only in the past year or two has there been any focus on rain water harvesting to replenish supplies. Chennai had serious problems in the 80’s and 90’s but the very broad push for rain water harvesting seems to have produced good results
